Daley Makes Debut Against Smith In Strikeforce Event

MMALinks

Paul "Semtex" Daley, made his debut with Strikeforce against Scott "Hands of Steel" Smith. If you all recall, Daley was fired from the UFC for lack of sportsmanship after sucker punching Josh Koshchek.  Though Daley had got dominated in that fight, Daley proved to be the more dominate fighter against Smith. - Daley connected three punches to the face of Smith which ultimately sent him plummeting face first to the canvas.

After the fight, Daley called out match between himself and KJ Noons as a means to get him closer to a title shot - and to that I say "As [****]ing if" ya clown. You lost your keep - how about you earn the respect of your fans again before you "think" you have the privileged of calling out ANYONE. Previously in a press conference, Daley was asked if he felt any added pressure to appease his fans due to the Koshchek incident. Daley said he wanted to forget about it and just fight. Perhaps he should have answered the question to appease his fans. Sure he may have acknowledged his fault in the past, but if it's important enough to have been brought up during a press conference - perhaps it was important enough to be answered.

Scott Smith had to drop weight to make his match against Daley and I have always considered weight-cuts a major disadvantage in mixed martial arts from a career boosting perspective. Fighters who fluctuate in weight normally fluctuate in speed and accuracy as well as stamina. Smith is considered a slugger and for the simple fact that he got knocked the eff out...it makes one wonder if his sudden drop in weight was a contributing factor in his performance.
